In my search for a portable battery pack around 17aH I 
decided to try to find Made in USA first, so went to the 
list I gathered a few months back: http://kd4e.com/of.html

 From the USStuff link http://www.usstuff.com/index.htm I 
discovered USA made chargers but no portable battery packs:

Then I found this site with Yuasa batteries (Enersys, the 
makers of Genesis - formerly called Yuasa batteries):

Yuasa/Genesis batteries are manufactured in the USA:
http://www.yuasabatteries.com/about.asp though the new 
parent company Enersys has manufacturing facilities all over 
the world:
http://www.enersysreservepower.com/locations.asp

Unless someone recommends another brand or specific model I 
think I will pursue the Yuasa/Genesis Made in USA battery.

Rather than a bail-out perhaps we just need to buy American?
