Scott- You need to keep a source of constant charge to the battery in
order for the inverter to work any appreciable time span. I asked about
the car to see it was feasible to mount an auxiliary battery with a
higher output alternator to run the inverter. 1000 amp hrs = apprx. 1000
amps available for 1 hr to jump a car.. kinda like the CCA (cold
cranking amps) rating on a car battery.

The beep indicates an overload (excessive draw) from the source battery
and/or a drop below 11.0 vdc at the source. The draw on the inverter is
to high, you need to go to a larger inverter at least a 1500watt, but
the problem again is a constant source and you wont get the amps without
going direct to the battery.

not sure this helps.
