Some general tips:

Use at least 1" wide braid and bond the hood to the body on both sides

so as to bypass the hinges.

Using the same kind of braid, bond the body to the frame and the

exhaust pipe o the frame. The exhaust can be bonded by running one

end of the braid under the U-bolts that clamp the pipe together. Do

this about everywhere you can.

More bonds mean (usually....HI!) less noise.

Take care to bond the rear bumper to the frame at the point where the

antenna is mounted.

When bonding, use stainless hardware. I'm not a fan of sheet metal

screws for bonding, I have found much better results drilling a hole

for 1/4-20 SS bolt and using a washer and lockwasher to effect the

mechanical aspect. Don't forget to get down to bare metal on the frame

and when the bond is made, give the area a shot of undercoating.

Be sure to connect the rigs directly to the battery and fuse both the +

and - sides right at the battery. This will help to reduce "alternator

whine." Use the heavies wire you can afford. I got a line on some

#4 which is wildly over the top.....but it works FB! Take care to

secure the power lines away from things that rotate or get hot. If you

use "zip-ties" get some decent ones from T&B or Panduit. Avoid the

crap at the dollar store or Radio Schlock.

Tim
