Hi, Ed.
I use a High Sierra HS-1500, the predecessor to the 1800.
I have been very happy with it. I set the antenna for the
highest received noise level on the S-meter then tune for
lowest reflected power using low power. It usually takes
less than a second or two for the final step unless you go
past the "sweet spot."

After doing the Oklahoma QSO Party with K5PX as NN5Z I'm interested in
getting a mobile setup. I would appreciate any suggestions on my planned
setup.
2003 Dodge diesel (noise problems?)
High Sierra 1800 antenna (how does it compare to the Tar Heel antenna?)
OMNI VI Plus
NO5W CQ/x software for QSO Parties
WriteLog for everything else
Earthmate GPS
Dell Inspiron Laptop
Thanks, Ed/W5TM
