Which engine do you have in the truck and what year is it?

I just ordered a 2005 GMC Sierra with the 6L V8 and four speed automatic. I 
hope to install an Icom 706G for HF and weak signal VHF/UHF operations and 
would like to "be prepared" as we used to say in the Boy Scouts. Any hints 
as to "known" noise problems and possible solutions with this power plant?
