[Mobile-Portable] Antenna mounts and vehicle value (was: Antenna Mounting...for Older Volvo)

In a very rare occurrence to me, I traded in a vehicle
to a dealership about ten years ago. The vehicle was
then three years old. I asked the dealership how much
less the car was worth because of the holes in the
roof and trunk. The dealership's reply was "we
certainly don't reduce the price we sell the vehicie
for and we're not going to reduce the amount we offer
to you."

Since then, I've asked about and it seems to be true.
Once a vehicle is more than about three years old, an
antenna mounting hole or a dozen simply does not
affect the value at all.

In my case, the dealer wanted to deduct a lot more for
the stone pitting on the front air dam, despite the
fact that in Colorado, you ALWAYS get stone pitting on
the front air dam!

So, dig away!
