[Mobile-Portable] Antenna Mounting Suggestions Needed for Older Volvo

I have some generic help...

I have a 92 Japanese Volvo (Subaru). Not only did I not really want to
puncture the skin, the skin is so thin that it wouldn't hold much anyway.

You can do this back or front on most cars. I did it front passenger side.

I got on my back and inched under the car to look things over. There is a
fair amount of heavy metal to which one can bolt or weld things.

I decided to use some 1/4 inch plate to put a small horizontal surface out
in front of my bumper.

It is bolted to frame members back underneath the bumper a ways, and it
sticks out in front of the bumper far enough to mount my screwdriver
antenna.

I don't have photos of it on this computer, but if you reply personally
(off reflector) I'll be happy to send you a couple later today or
tomorrow. If you sent me your phone number I'd call you this weekend for a
chat about this.
