Has anyone used one of these:

for mounting an antenna? If so, what do
you think of it?
We'll be pulling a fifth-wheel trailer with
our F250, which limits mounting locations.

There is enough clearance between the front
of the trailer and the cab of the truck to put
an antenna up near the cab, in the first set
of stake pockets, without the trailer bumping
into it even during turns.
I was thinking of putting a short screwdriver
antenna on a mast that's just high enough to
clear the roof of the truck. Something like the
High Sierra Sidekick, Little Tarheel, etc.
On the passenger side I'd like to put a six meter
loop on a mast that'll raise it up above the
truck roof.
For the 2m/440mhz antenna, a mag mount in
the center of the truck roof would probably
suffice.
For those of you running mobile rigs with
detachable front panels in a new-ish Ford F250,
where do you put the radio body? And how
do you secure it so it doesn't move around?
My last mobile was a Ten Tec Scout and Texas
Bugcatcher mounted on a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500.
I'm looking forward to going mobile in the Ford,
but I still have to pick out a radio. I'm leaning towards
the Kenwood TS-480. Any qualified opions about
this radio are also welcome.
Thanks,
