Hi,
High Sierra has had a small antenna for almost two years. The HS-900 was
shown last year at Dayton. As you know, one of our competitors has a small
version that looks exactly like the 900; right down to the 8 screws in the
base. Gordon West's recent article in CQ that called the copy a "new class"
of mobile antenna was simply not true. Yaesu, Super Antennas and High
Sierra have had them for years. Yaesu was the first small motorized
antenna.
This year we will have the Sidekick. It is only 15 inches tall and covers
80 to 6 meters with a three foot whip. The price at Dayton will be just
$275. It does have the new Black Hawk Motor and no fingerstock. Basically,
a very small version of the HS-1800/Pro. I suppose next year there will be
similar antennas to the new Sidekick.
In any case, we will be in booth 302. We have shipped more than 1500 pounds
of antennas. I hope to see you there. We leave for the airport in a little
while. It should be fun. Last year was just unbelievable.
