I have mine in front of my dash, about midway from top to bottom. It gets
direct sun there sometimes and is HARD to read when hot...the LCD screen
clouds and dims.
Velcro is a good attacher media, and later its adhesive can be rubbed off
(with difficulty) with one's thumb...or someone eles's thumb (-:
What I might do is make a little sheet metal L-bracket with a fair-sized
'footprint'. Hold this bracket to the dash or wherever with velcro. Then
attach the IC706's remote face bracket to that first bracket...that way
one could still place and remove the remote head easily and often and the
velcro won't wear out.
