[Mobile-Portable] HTX-10 and speed limit light noise

California cities went almost all LED traffic signals two years ago when
electric prices went sky high. I am sure a "Google" search on newsgroups
regarding "LED light interference" would find the references.

On a recent trip to Albuquerque, I found that transmitting on 2M with
400W SSB to a pair of KB6KQ loops, at certain (not most) intersections,
turned some LED traffic lights (both red & green, and not necessarily
all lights in the intersection) off, but I didn't have any interference
from them - the only interference was from me TO them! Only time I've
ever run into THAT, but I don't normally run into LED traffic signals!!
2M signal reports from the local folks I was in contact with (S9+ signal
strength) at the time were clean, so it wasn't a "dirty" transmitter.
I didn't try 10m; next time in ABQ I'll check! Haven't been
particularly bothered around Texas by anything other than straight line
noise except for occasionally hearing the relay spikes from flashing
lights signifying a school zone.
Interesting!!
