Tailgate Swapfest coming up next Saturday June 7 in St Paul! National
Weather Service is showing 30% chance of rain, but from a week away
they seldom go below 20% chance of rain. The real issue is will it
rain in the morning Saturday? It sounds like it will be fairly cool
all week, so AM rain is less likely. I really don't care if we get
rain after 1PM, by then the hamfest is over! You'll get a more
accurate idea of the Swapfest weather on Thursday....

Gas and travel is expensive these days. Get on the air and talk it up
that you are going to a hamfest and try to get a group to ride along
and share the gas expense. You'll save money on gas and avoid that
long, lonely ride in the car!

And don't forget that ARRL Field Day is June 28-29, 2014!! If your
license includes HF privileges, you can operate Field Day as a home
station. If you don't have HF privileges, you can still get a taste of
the action by visiting a local club Field Day site and operate their
Get-On-The-Air station. Make plans to visit a local FD site to watch
or contact them and commit to a larger role in their effort!

If you are traveling in NW Minnesota or North Dakota, you might want
to consider the 51st International Hamfest on July 11-12. It sounds
like a combined ARRL convention and hamfest, with much more to do than
just shop. It is held in the Peace Garden on the US-Canada border
between Brandon and Rugby on Hwy 10. Check out their web page.

Here is the updated list of hamfests in or near Minnesota in the coming months.
I've put in minimum data but given you a web link to search for more
info. The hamfests on the bottom of the list have not been officially
scheduled since their next date and will be updated as they draw near.
