Subject: BikeMS tours fundraising event volunteer request


Please announce the text below in your upcoming newsletters, nets and to
your group(s). Help spread the word!



Radio communications volunteers are requested to assist with the 2011 BikeMS
fundraising bicycle tours, there are 2 upcoming events to benefit the MS
Society:



   - The MS150 is on Saturday June 10 and Sunday, June 12, the route is from
   Duluth to the Twin Cities with an overnight in Hinckley.
   - The second tour is the MS TRAM, a week long tour July 24-29 in the
   Rochester area of SE Minnesota.

Radio operators are needed to help support the tours. We are seeking riders
and *volunteers in all capacities* to support these events.  *Amateur radio
operators are requested* to help with communications in multiple positions
including:

   - rest stops
   - first aid stations
   - intersections
   - support vehicles
   - other positions



Help promote the use and benefit of utilizing amateur radio for public
service events..



ARES members, announce to your teams, these Bike MS events are excellent
opportunities to brush up on your skills and dust off your emergency
equipment as these are field operations. The events can really test you and
your communications equipment under disaster type situations.
