Just a last minute reminder that this Saturday, June 4, is the
Tailgate Swapfest at the 3M Center in Maplewood (St Paul), MN. The
weather looks to be perfect this weekend, so load up the car and
trailer and bring your excess equipment to the hamfest on
Saturday!.Buyers get in for $8, kids under 16 get in free with a paid
adult admission. Selling space is $18.
Still wondering what a Swapfest is?? It is a hamfest, a swapfest, a
flea market, a "car boot" sale that is primarily intended for ham
radio operators and computer or electronics hobbiests of all types.
I'm not saying you will not find a few car parts, collectables, and
tools there, but they are more likely to be mobile HF radio antennas,
tube radios, and soldering irons..... You never know what you will
find when you start looking.
So bring your friends and spend the morning doing something more fun
than mowing the grass.... This is a great place to buy stuff you
can't find elsewhere, and to meet people and talk about ham radio.
Don't forget to put your name and address into the door prize bucket
so we can put you on the mailing list for the announcement next year.
Or just remember to mark the first Saturday in June for this event!
The fun starts at 7AM and ends at 1PM, so get the car loaded Friday
night and get up early. Don't forget to bring the sun screen and
portable shade since we don't have any! Everything happens in the
parking lot, no indoor activities, no VE testing.... If you need more
information, check the web page link above for more details and the
maps.
Our Tailgate Swapfest is held in conjunction with the 3M employee's
club "Everything Under The Sun" sale. This is an outdoor flea market
held in another parking lot at 3M Center. It has free admission for
buyers so bring the wife and visit both sales Saturday morning!.
See you there!
