Most of us are VHF types but I do like sound card applications for all 
the special modes you can use. I think WSJT has a lot of potential for 
meteor scatter. But I haven't tried it yet....
I broke down to buy a new laptop after Thanksgiving so I would have 
something fast enough for SDR applications. But I haven't taken time to 
test my Softrock40 v6 yet.
Have you looked at the Softrock40 RXTX v6 yet? Around $40 for a SDR 
radio kit! I've also been watching the "Scottie's Spectrum Analyzer" kit 
and planning.....
Lots of great new stuff to play with but just haven't taken the time...
