I too suffered damage during the shipping problem also , but it was aggravated by improper packing. I had a Bendix RDF receiver shipped to me which was fairly well packed, but lacked one extra protection it needed. The shaft that the tuning cable would screw into was not protected. Somewhere the RX was dropped or smashed against something hard, forcing that side of the box inward, and pushing the tuning shaft into the radio, bending the cabinet and the chassis, but amazingly not damaging the tuning cap. The hollow splined tuning shaft opening had packing material and box jammed into it when it punched through the box like a hole punch. The real problem is that the cabinet is a wrap around aluminum shell integral to the chassis, all screwed together with many machine screws, and to repair it, it will be necessary to remove them all to separate the main chassis and the surrounding cabinet, unsolder and remove the tuning cap, in order to hammer everything flat again.
