A thing to think about when making longer cables, is whether the cable used has sufficiently robust conductors  for your filament load.

I have some for the TCS remote control  and ART 13 remote and made them very long, around 12 ft, as those controls are at my op position while the rigs are not.  The TCS is set up on one freq which I use, so normally the controls are locked.  Better to be too long than just a bit short.  My ARC gear though, is all grouped together with the RX tuning cables that I have, setting the overall length of the wired cables.
