I would open a case with eBay and claim the item was mis-described: You got a damaged one and not the one you bought. Ebay will freeze his money and you can say that the unit arrived looking different than the one in the photos. There is NO reason for bad packing like that. Ebay favors the buyer. Also leave him a negative strike, they are a pain.
