Problem child... I bought this last month and it arrived in the condition shown. Seller refuses to take responsibility for poor packing, blames UPS. Thrown unprotected into a box with random loose fill, a surefire recipe for disaster.

Damage seems limited to the left rear corner, and some looseness in the idler that bears on the tuning knob flywheel, which can be adjusted.

Seller described it as in good operating condition, and I was hoping for plug-and-play, but I have not applied power. Top of chassis cosmetics: fair. Under the chassis: very clean. Some abrasions on the front panel... not bad. Also undisclosed by the seller: the radio sat in the vicinity of somebody with a can of white spray paint, so evidence of very slight fog on the dial escutcheons, not visible in seller's photos.

The good news... the chassis is aluminum not steel, so amenable to coaxing it back into shape. Problem is, I am 82 and I need to pick my restoration projects. The most I was willing to do on this was to replace the guaranteed-to-fail bumblebee caps, and repaint the front panel, but I'm not gonna wrestle the sheet metal back into shape. I'll take a big loss on this, but I need to recover something. I'll sell it for $250 plus shipping, and I'll include a handful of new .05's to replace the bumblebees. Shipping could exceed $100, but I will pay for materials to pack it safely this time. Or pick up... I am in New York, 10 miles north of the George Washington Bridge.

If no takers, I will cannibalize it for the major parts... tuning train, band-change assy, transformers.

if no takers for the cannibalized parts, it all goes to landfill.
