Hello,
There are only a few remaining items needed for the flying restoration of a historic PBY-5A Bureau Number 2459. This very Catalina sank several U boats early in WWII out of Iceland and is being restored to that time period.
She has a complete ASE radar set (minus the antenna switch) with a full Sterba array and all of the RU sets with the GO9 transmitter. The nav station, bomb aimer, gunnery and crew positions are all there and accurate.
They need two RL-24 station boxes and an antenna switch. Photo attached. We only have a lousy blurry antenna switch photo to go by.
Would any of you have these items? Maybe know someone who does? They are happy to buy them. Happier to get them donated. These are some of the last items remaining to finish up the interior. Photos of the interior also attached. If the photos don’t make it then email me directly and Ill send them to you.
It is a very worthy restoration that will be going to the American Heritage Museum in Massachusetts.
If you want to send them directly you can email Casey who is the guy restoring this PBY, at
[email protected] otherwise I am happy to relay.
Please spread the word and thanks in advance for any help.
