Well pardon the intrusion but  I was the only one that provided an official government document. I also mentioned it was from a later date,  So there is that. 

I was just providing input which I only do on occasion when I feel like there is some use to what I am providing.  
 
But everyone go ahead and continue saying this or that or other input is wrong with nothing official I’m sure it’s all true.

In later manuals.  Specifically the Joint Electronics Type Designation system manual MIL-STD-196a dated 9May57 

SCR stands for Surface Water Craft, Carrier, Receiving, >passive/detection.

Pardon me, but i am not seeing how this helps. The Navy's 2 to 4 letter system and the Army's SCR system were both replaced, for new gear, by the AN system, i think 1943.
