It has been decades since i owned this thing. There was no specific label tag; something else must have made me check it. Perhaps weight. NO, these cabinets were not made to save a pound weight, on a ship !
But i still wonder how a nonmagnetic cabinet on a radio was a worry when you have a great big diesel engine below decks and large metal props.
Re the 'weight saving' topic, i have noticed some Japanese aircraft radios seem unnecessarily heavy. Perhaps they were short on aluminum. I also have a Japanese antenna tuner on top a aircraft transmitter; the cabinet is thin wood. Not sure
whether that was due to materials shortage or to minimize the capacitance of the roller coil to ground.
