Subject: Re: [Milsurplus] Milsurplus Digest, Vol 259, Issue 24 LF/MF fun

So i’ve reading all the messages about LF/MF and receivers. I didn’t see the BC 348 series mentioned. I realize it’s frequency is 200 to 500 Kc but I’m thinking it might be worth trying to looking for some NDB’s with it. I have one that still has the Dynamotor in it and it would be easy to get 24 volts from a couple batteries run it.

Has anyone tried this idea?

The second SW receiver i ever had was an ARR-15. It was refurbed and in a huge barrel when i got it. I operated it on a

brute force 24 volt supply from Fair and there definitely was a noise floor. You would not want to be a hardcore DXer

and be using a dynamotor supply, i think.

I astonished my barber, an immigrant from Malaysia, by telling him i used to listen to BBC Kuching Malaysia,

this via the ARR-15. I remember a soccer match broadcast. This was somewhere in the 5 MHz tropical band.
