I regard screenwriters and novelists as immature boors. I think they should find a more honest line of work.  It took me several decades to come to this conclusion. I think my appetite is far from that of the Colosseum crowds.
I am still pissed about having to waste time reading 'The Bear', 'The Fire Next Time', 'Wuthering Heights' and all that kind of ephemeral crap. 
Even something i read in later years,  'Stalingrad' by Theodor Pliever, it now strikes me that it was more rewarding, and trustworthy, to read the actual histories and memoirs. 
I was just reading tonite in the NYT about an SF CA lawsuit against makers of "highly processed foods in colorful boxes."
