The King of mistakes was the sci-fi USN based movie where a BC348 was used as a transceiver with the mic plugged in the headphone jack.  All modern gear was wiped out by an EMP, but somebody remembered an old radio they still had.  I can't remember the name and when I try to search for it, all that comes up is the 2012 movie 'Battleship', and that ain't it.
