"...got tired of dealing with some people who when a question about accuracy..."
In a related issue, is the 2 meter and up denizens that put blind faith in what the digital display says on their foreign made radio. I have an old piece of 2 meter gear that has a discriminator meter in it, that I know to be very accurate, as I check it regularly due to my association with one particular repeater. First off, many FM folks have no clue what a discriminator is, but I will watch the meter while tuned to the input as it swings left and right around zero as various rigs are keyed up. Their receiver display may say 147.285, but all those numbers they don't see between 147.880 and 147.890 when they go to transmit can have a great effect on why they are not making the repeater when at a distance. When they comment on the repeater being weak, why can't it copy their signal, don't say a thing, they will not understand, and they don't want to.
