Someone recently mentioned a book about the procurement of quartz during World War 2. Can anyone help me pull up the title? It has to be an interesting story because linked to Roosevelt's policy of cozying up to Brazil and other South American countries that were also being romanced by the Germans looking for strategic materials... quartz for radios and lignum vitae for shaft bearings on Liberty Ships, among others.
