Those of us that keep the milsurp running, the vintage ham gear, and get on the air and actually talk or press the key, are the remnants of what ham radio was, and the last bastion of folks that know anything about electronics and how to fix stuff. To me, one of the most aggravating things said back to me when I am on vintage stuff, is "You're 50 cycles low." Well then, open the owner's manual on your rice box and look up how to operate the RIT.
