Back in the day, when diodes were tested, those with a unique set of curves were branded with a different part number, same for early transistors. I would think that any decent modern signal diode will have the required reverse recovery time that was already mentioned. The only thing that might make a difference would be the forward voltage drop and perhaps the reverse leakage current but that might be of no concern in this application.
