Its hard to pass up the BC-221's at hamfests. I must own 4 of them.

I think an article on BC-221 or LM FET replacements for the tubes, was in 73 Magazine. I have the article - "somewhere". Nowhere near as involved as any complete receiver replacement. FET means "Filament Eliminated Tube."
