I don't have but a couple suffix models, but i would guess it's the early ones that don't, that have the  pilot lamps on each side of front panel very near the top.

I really should fix my PDR-27S.

Steve B. told me the Japanese walkie talkie 94-6 "buzzes like a beehive". My brother told me the plugin coils for the 94-3A xcvr, and apparently the coils alone  were "hot".
