In the 1970s in NE PA (Slatington area) where I lived at the time, AT&T was installing microwave relay towers, prolly for DOD. It was reported in the local papers that the ironworkers were from the Mowhawk Nation, from upstate New York.

I know that Mohawk Indians were famous for working on skyscrapers and bridges in the US and Canada but they were from the northeast and not Oklahoma.
