Next time you take 274N out, and assuming you're
only intending to talk to local "near field" guys,
try this:

Pull both the dynamotors.
Leave them on display.
On the dyno connecting pins of both the receiver
and the modulator, clip-lead the 24V A+ post to the B+ post.
Connect a cheap Computer amplified speaker
to the active receiver audio buss.
You'll be surprised.

I don't remember how much RF is output,
but plenty to talk around a hamfest or MV Event.
