Here, here! It's especially appalling when I see adverts for wire antennas (irrespective of design) for $100 or more, which, once installed, will need to be adjusted anyway.

Probably a lot of modern hams have no clue what the older tests were like, but picking up any of the 1950/60 License Manuals, by the ARRL, Ameco, Allied would be an eye opener for most today, especially those who buy commercially made dipoles and coax with the connectors installed.Charlie, W4MEC
