been troubleshooting the ART13 with the help of Jeep Platt, Breck Smith and Ray Fantini. Been thinking about those flying radio operators and then I found this book.

 

 “Departure Message Chronicles of an Airborne Radio Operator” by Charles Lunsford. He was in the USAF in the late 50s to early 60s and was the next to last class of airborne radio ops.

 

Interesting reading and he talks about the “new” 618S1, ART13, and other radios
