That movie is hilarious! I have heard of and seen "Brogan maintenance", but I never saw anyone use a hokker to fix anything. The closest legend I have encountered was a contact lubricant for the old "panel" central office telephone switching system. You rubbed the side of your nose with a finger, then applied the oil to a large sliding contact in the equipment. Maybe some things did work better with a little schmutz on them.
