I believe that this dual pot has a taper in both sections. The 500k has a clockwise "audio" taper and the 50k has a counterclockwise "audio" taper, or so it seems from the descriptions for R34 & R35.

You can add a taper to a linear pot if a donor pot cannot be found, see:

You will need a dual 1meg and 100k pot and a couple of resistors.

Will also take a non-working one, if the failure mode happens to be an open between the wiper lug & the end of carbon track lugs. (I've fixed that kid of problem before.)
