issue some time ago, either here,
or on the ARC5 list...

In any case, as I remember it, Dave
slipped piecies of thin plastic between
the shorted plates to separate them

Thanks, Ken.  I did indeed, and still do.
Many people have their favorite way to
fix this problem, but I've never had
consistant luck with glues or trying to
drill (1 millimeter off and no workie).

I wrote a short piece for Electric Radio
in January of 2018 about fixing this
with clear, stiff plastic shims, cut from
the hard, clear plastic everthing gets
sold in these days. 
Worked without fail for me so far.
