Would have thought most of this was due to people inadvertently downloading crap in their browsers and opening infected attachments? Figured the days of direct attacks on servers were long over in today’s world, unless you servers are managed by idiots. Keeping in mind the typical Hams affinity for stupid and useless attachments like animated gif files and the like perhaps that’s how it happens, don’t know but would also think that much of the files uploaded for contest results and the like arrive as zip files and maybe that’s how they got infected? Don’t know myself, dropped my membership with the league years ago. No complaints but they seem to be moving into their vision of the hobby and what I want to do is something completely different.

Thinking of how crazy the world is today I wonder how long before they are run by non-Hams and defer to professional management, nobody can screw thigs up as fast and bad as an MBA.
