The only ones I've encountered so far have been the second type, a "nut" (just a threaded ring with two flats) that sits under the chassis & the upper half of the mount passes through a plain hole to engage the nut. Usually with a ding from a punch to "lock" the threads.  And they are indeed a pain to get access to.  I've one chassis queued up with dead, broken rubber & another chassis had all the mounts removed (and even more parts will have to be restored to that one before it's done).

I haven't done any tinkering with the mounts other than to see that the ones I have don't look easy to open up for removing the old rubber. But maybe it'll look different when I spend some more time looking at it.

I'm trying to put together a set of 3 receivers in a triple set rack but my rack is missing all the connectors & jacks & switches, so that's another thing I'll be searching for.

Hello Wayne,
There were at least two kinds: for one type, there was a threaded 'nut' rivetted to the chassis; the other type went into a plain hole and required a nut underneath. To fit the second kind, you need to displace the four rear potted components - quite a pain.
I've found that rubber, or the later silastic, grommets can replace the usually by now, perished rubber. Add a little acid-free silicone glue.
If you can't remove the perished rubber from the outer cages, I may be able to help with refurbished ones.

[ARC5] Command Set Dynamotor shocks wanted

I'm looking for some Command Set receiver (ARC-5 or SCR-274-N) dynamotor shock mounts that still have serviceable rubber in them. Probably will need two sets before very long.  Will consider taking on complete decrepit chassis for the parts.  I'd also be interested if anyone has seen a way to replace the rubber in those mounts.
Thanks!
