It might be difficult.  This article will help sort out the difference between early models. 
I don't know where to get a 224C manual.  There is a BC-224A manual on Radionerds that might help a little.

BAMA materials and some websites cover  224s, but not early model like this one ( has tube 41, 6F7 and wiring colors not the same, among other things). Was made for the Army  by RCA requiring 12v not 28v. Appreciate any help.
