Well thanks everyone. I never thought about using a plasic spacer. I suppose the plates would hold them in place until you tried to adjust the cap. You would have to be able to see the cap as it turns so the spacers don't fall out.

Some people recommend restoring the fin spacing with a plastic spacer(s) jammed in between the rotor & stator fins. Others pull the cap & drill & pin the shaft in its collar so that it cannot slip again. I've done the latter for RBM-5 caps but the BC-312 caps are slightly different construction details I think.

Each to their own of course. I have had a 100% success rate using plastic spacers.

Of course!? Different situations call for different solutions. I'd worry that the spacers would fall out some time when it was least expected. LOL

Just when you thought it was safe to go on YouTube I have once again posted a video of the last weekends show, well maybe it was not a weekend worth only running Thursday for set up and Friday with everyone packing up and leaving Friday night, but I did stay there and operated all three regularly scheduled Nets on Saturday. The 7087 RTTY military radio net, the MMRCG 7296 USB Net and did check into the M&S Net on 5357, although still having issues trying to copy NCS for that net.
You can see the new video at:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2fPxFkT_Og

Just as a side note I have noticed that I am concentrating more on doing videos these days as opposed to doing web stuff like I use to do in the past. Think there is more activity using the video platforms in comparison to doing web pages. Least that's how I feel about it right now. Think I may have some benefit of having worked in that field years ago doing that type of work and find it's fun to get back into if it is only in a small way.
