Over the holiday built a DC Power supply for the receiver that takes in twelve volts and put out between ninety to one hundred thirty five, figure can also use with other field radio projects like my TBX and GRC stuff. Built with all stuff from around the shop using a power MOS device from old UPS system. Went with low frequency (70 to 80Hz) to use regular power transformer and filters and not get any annoying inverter RFI. If anyone is interested in its design can post more. The inverter provides 125 volts at 35 mA while consuming just under an amp at twelve volts. Think it’s about thirty percent efficient. Figure on having it set up out at Hamvention this year.
