Per Wikipedia: "Ocean boarding vessels (OBVs) were merchant ships taken over by the Royal Navy during the Second World War for the purpose of enforcing wartime blockades by intercepting and boarding foreign vessels."

You are absolutely right, and i was wrong. “Boarding vessels” are different from “accommodation vessels”, and i looked at a photo caption

and misconstrued the object. One thing that puzzles me: the boarding vessels have no armament, they are just listed as “merchant conversions”, no enforcement.
