The CIA says the AAF B-24 and the Navy Catalina were ELENT aircraft in the Pacific in WW2.  See:

It looks to be post WWII and from what little I have been able to learn it offers a "rapid means of locating and measuring the frequency of enemy signals which are on for a very short interval of time".
