When I was in Navy-Marine Corps MARS in the 1960s, I received an AN/SRR-13A, AN/ARR-15, AN/PRC-6, AN/PRC-34, and AN/PRC--36.  For each I had to sign an equipment accountability form and be prepared to turn in the equipment when I left NAVMARCOR MARS.  In the mid-1970s I received a letter that declared the equipment unsuitable for recovery and dropped accountability on everything.  The original accountability forms that I had signed were returned to me.

I carried the AN/SRR-13A with me to several duty stations when I was in the USN.  It was very useful while I was stationed in Idaho for naval reactor training.  In 1975 SE Idaho, by midnight all local TV and broadcast stations were off the air.  Shortwave was all there was.

I still have both the equipment and the forms.  NAVMARCOR MARS is long gone.

Army and Air Force MARS of that era exercised no similar equipment accountability program.

In the navy MARS program we were issued equipment that was still accountable.
If we requested cannibalization authority and were granted same, we had to turn in the equipment tags.
I guess this was to prevent the selling of equipment?
