Every one of these closings is a punch in the gut, whether it's a big-time operation like Fair Radio or a small local parts store.
It just reminds us that the days are gone when radio was cool and cutting edge, when the AM band was alive with good music, when you could spend an evening listening to a variety of interesting SW broadcasts, and when people actually fixed their own electronics and had fun doing it.
Don't kid yourself. As we get older, there's also a strong aspect of "Ask not for whom the bell tolls...."
