Subject: Re: [Milsurplus] Hallicrafters TR-9 power connector ?

My TR9 has a 2 pin connector.  Looks like the same power connector used on other Hallicrafters village radios.  I don't know what the part number is but it is fairly common.
I don't know if my first message went through.  Photo attached.

does anyone here know a name and or part number for a female match to this power

Hue, I see 3 pins in that image, correct?    If so, I'd say it's not original, as the photo in the manual shows a 2 pin connector of the Amphenol 80 series that were commonly used as mic connectors by Heathkit and others.   However to avoid having power on exposed pins, the male is on the radio, meaning the cable needs to have the female version, which is less common.
On my TR-9 someone resolved this by substituting the one-pin version of the 80 series with the outer ring providing the ground contact.  Not a problem given the low current requirement.    I didn't get the cable with it, nor the metal top cover (if anyone has a spare lying around),  so I don't know what the original cable looked like.   Neat little rig!
