I have a question for the collective wisdom of the group.  The three IFT coupling capacitors in the ARR-15 set the IF bandwidth.  The original bandwidth is calculated to be approximately 15.5 kc which agrees quite well with the graph found in the manual.

Halving the original capacitor values will reduce the bandwidth, also by half.  So, what would be an acceptable IF bandwidth for both AM and SSB?  SSB is easy to do in the ARR-15 by disconnecting the 28 volt lead to Z-122 an audio filter.  With Z-122 disabled, going into CW mode will activate the BFO but maintain the AM audio bandwidth.

So is 4kc enough, is 6kc too much?  Any suggestions appreciated.

Jim
