It's  Navy Grease 14L3 designation was superceded in the 60's and again in the 80s.

It's now designated DOD 25408 or 25408a.

Still widely specified in fleet and aircraft use 

Mobilgrease 28 meets the DOD certifications. 

It is indeed a unique product....a clay based thickener and less viscosity than grade 2.

Now a synthetic oil base instead of petroleum.

Readily available from aviation supply distributors and even Amazon!
